For years the library has always been the one place that you could go to escape the noise from the outside world. Just walking into the building, you were immediately captivated and engulfed by all of the books that were so strategically placed on each and every shelf. And as you walked down each aisle, you slowly searched until you saw that one book that was calling your name. Today our libraries are still in the business of giving you that very special warm feeling. But as times are changing, our small town libraries are learning to change and adapt as well. These days, you can walk into any library and find computer labs that are setup with the most up to date software for your use. Children can walk in and spend time in our play and stay areas and enjoy board games, educational games, puzzles and more. Our libraries even offer gaming areas with the latest video game consoles for you to come in, relax, and have some down while playing your favorite video games. So many FREE opportunities to be taken advantage of at your local library. And although we have learned to adapt and change with the world, the library has never lost that sense of its first love, books! What's that you say? Nobody reads hard covers anymore? I beg to differ my friend. Our libraries still see an influx of readers old and young alike who are looking to take that very special trip that only a good book can take you on. So don't count the small town libraries out just yet. As a matter of fact, stop counting. The small town libraries are here to stay!
